Great afternoon with my daughter at Loch Leven.

Very much winter now. Leaden sky with a sulphur tinge that hinted at snow to come. Silver loch beyond shifting reeds.

Whooper swans on the Loch and pink footed geese coming and going.

When I worked at Milnathort I used to love the big flocks of geese that come in at dusk.  There can be up to 20,000 roosting on the Loch by night and feeding on farmland by day.

The Loch Leven Heritage Trail is a really great path. And so popular – lovely seeing so many people out enjoying it. Even on a dreich November day.

This afternoon we headed home as the sky turned a brilliant red.

But not before we’d enjoyed some baked products at Loch Leven’s Larder.

Obviously.
